A whole new world

Participation in a virtual exchange program offers students
an opportunity they might not get otherwise. Unfortunately,
despite increasing interdependence, less than 1% of young
people participate in international exchange programs.
More surprisingly, almost 30% of Americans have never
traveled outside of their country.
Cross-cultural education expands one’s worldview,
creates more positive attitudes, eliminates prejudices,
and tears down the barriers that exist between people.
Exposure to diverse intercultural perspectives enables
students to gain a more profound understanding
of their own culture and its idiosyncrasies. It also allows
them to participate more effectively and responsibly

Germany has more than 380 universities with 17,000
study programs that rank among the best in the world.

destinations for international students, with more than

in German schools. What’s more, the German system
for higher education boasts a number of universities
with very low ($350 per semester) or nonexistent
tuition fees. And even the $350 per semester that you’re

corporations, such as BMW, Volkswagen, Adidas, Siemens,
Bosch, Daimler, Allianz, and Lufthansa. Communicating
effectively in German, along with a college degree, may help
you get your foot in the door of one of these big businesses.

Is Real Talk only
for language classes?

Absolutely not.
Real Talk is a cross-curricular
program that can be used in any class:
language, math, social studies, English
Language Arts (ELA), and others.

“How?” you might ask. It’s simple: Students can
practice and learn each other’s languages while
also mastering the academic content laid out in
their grade level curriculums.
